There is a small Ionian island where the light turns gold at dawn, the cicadas keep time, and the water is said to have carried Aphrodite herself into the world. This is Kythera and for the third year running, it's home to Birth of Creation, a Narrative Healing retreat that fuses mindful movement, deep writing practice, and a deeper connection to yourself and to community around you.

Unlike a one-off retreat, Birth of Creation begins before you ever board a plane. A new monthlong online community program leads up to the week in Kythera - a space to connect with fellow writers, get grounded in the Narrative Healing approach, and arrive on the island already knowing your cohort and already clear on what you're there to write. By the time you land, the work has already started.

Narrative Healing founder Lisa Weinert returns to guide the group’s writing practice, joined by yoga and breathwork teacher Brette Popper and award-winning editor, activist, and author Jamia Wilson. Together, they create a warm, spacious container in which a small circle of writers can listen inwardly, reconnect with their creative lives, and bring their voices more fully to the page.
