The future isn't going to write itself: Join us for cocktails and a conversation about story, social justice, and the art of bearing witness.
Today, more than ever, the stories of those most impacted by social injustice need to be heard. But how do we challenge those who seek to “disappear” stories that speak truth to power? And how can we use our own stories to break through ideological barriers during times of high political conflict?
On Thursday, May 22nd, the visionaries behind the just-launched Center for Story & Witness - human rights journalist Jimmie Briggs, author and gender justice activist
Anne K. Ream, a novelist and Yale University lecturer in creative writing , R. Clifton Spargo - will explore these questions during a conversation moderated by movement builder, author, and Random House Executive Editor, Jamia Wilson.
They’ll also speak to how the Center for Story &Witness (formerly The Voices and Faces Project) is creating a global chorus of writers, artists, activists, and witnesses using
story to create social change.
Hosted by Rachel Foster and Alain Kodsi, this will be a night of conversation, community, and cocktails. See you there!
