"The Evolution of the Sister Circle: From Orishas to Podcasting"

~ How Black Women Carry the Oral Tradition ~

We've got an amazing lineup of panelists including:

Jenna Wortham (The New York Times Magazine / Still Processing)
Doreen St. Félix (The New Yorker)
Leila Day (The Stoop)
Natasha Alford (The Grio)
Jamia Wilson (Feminist Press)
+ Moderated by Tracy G (She's Beauty and the Beast)

For centuries the spoken word has been used to preserve cultural tradition, as a mode of entertainment, and a tool for revolutionary change. This form has not been lost, but rather has extended into the digital age. Today the oral tradition lives on in many forms, often with black women leading the way.
