Address: Hausmannsgate 16, Oslo

With the growth of social media and the internet, we are witnessing a renaissance of misogyny and digital havens for those who hate and harass women and girls.

How can we best increase our knowledge and understanding of the causes, consequences and mechanisms of such hate speech and how do we best combat it?

LDO is hosting a follow-up conference to our successful event at this year’s annual UN session on the status of women. At the conference, you will hear speakers from Norway and the US talk about various aspects and forms of gender-based hate speech from both an academic and activist perspective.

A light meal and beverages will be served. Please inform us in your registration if you need an interpreter for sign language, or have special dietary needs.

The conference is in collaboration with the U.S. Embassy. It is free of charge and will be held in English. The moderator will translate contributions from the audience when necessary. We encourage the audience to prepare questions for the panelists, and to share with us knowledge and experiences with best practices in the fight against gender-based hate speech.
